FOSTER

we’re overjoyed you want to become a Volunteer foster & help save lives, however it’s important you understand the type of rescue we do!

Fostering encompasses caring for a cat or kittens volunteer trappers rescued from the street. We don’t have a facility, a shelter so we can’t save lives unless a foster is willing to share their space with needy kitties.

Some fosters are short-term ( 1-4 weeks), some step up on an emergency basis, example, for the weekend and other fosters donate their love for several months. Being able to work together as a remote team is critical.

It’s important to understand the gritty, boots on the ground rescue work our volunteer trappers do. We DON’T have a ‘holding’ facility, meaning we CAN’T rescue a kitten or cat from the street without a pre-approved foster on call, ready to jump when our volunteer trappers can save a life. Leaving a cat or kitten on the street for even an extra day could be the difference between life or death. This is rewarding, but very serious volunteer rescue work.

Like many small rescues, fosters provide food litter so we can dedicate what funds we scrape together for required medical care. It’s important to note, all volunteer trapper’s donate not only their time but also come out of pocket to cover wear & tear on their vehicle,, gas, cat food & supplies necessary to trap 20+ cats every week on top of the time they’re donating.

Our policy for fosters & adopters is always INDOOR ONLY. Fosters are required to keep their foster kitty 150% SAFE at all times, meaning there’s absolutely no possible way for your foster to ever escape.

We require regular updates, photos & your insight into what the best home looks iike for each kitty.  We love teamwork, so we do ask fosters to share not only their foster kitties, but other’s we post on social media so every little love gets as much exposure as possible.

Our fosters are NOT responsible for finding adopters, every adopter is fully screen by our team. We’re about finding paw parents, not peddling cats & kittens.

Luxe Paws assumes full responsibility for all medical care, fosters will NEVER take their foster to a vet & we will NOT reimburse fosters for medical care they obtain without WRITTEN pre-approval from our foster manager.

If all the above sounds like a good fit, fill out our application below, tell us about your strengths & weaknesses, even your eagerness to learn new skills! IF your application is approved, our foster coordinator will email you to schedule a phone interview & get you up & running.
